meherbaba.AI uses retrieval-augmented generation over a self-hosted vector database that stores Meher Baba’s authentic teachings verbatim. When a seeker asks a question, it retrieves the actual passages that speak to it — never a paraphrase — and an artificial intelligence agent, Claude, only synthesizes and frames those retrieved words; it never generates content in Meher Baba’s voice or answers from its own knowledge when no genuine passage exists.

This honors formal fidelity commitments to the Avatar Meher Baba Trust: verbatim retrieval only, Trust retains copyright, a clear visible line between Meher Baba’s words and framing by trusted agent, no third-party processing or storage of Meher Baba’s words.

Meher Baba (1894–1969), born Merwan Sheriar Irani to a Zoroastrian family in Poona, India, is revered by his followers as the Avatar — the direct manifestation of God in human form. His awakening began in 1913 when the Muslim saint Hazrat Babajan kissed him on the forehead, an event he described as the moment of God-realization; over the following years he came into contact with four other Perfect Masters, most notably Upasni Maharaj, who helped him bring that realized consciousness into conventional functioning. He went on to establish Meherabad, a colony near Ahmednagar where he ran a free hospital and school and worked personally among the poor, the sick, lepers, and “masts” — souls he described as God-intoxicated.

On July 10, 1925, Meher Baba stopped speaking, and he never spoke another word for the remaining 44 years of his life, communicating instead through an alphabet board and, later, hand gestures. Far from diminishing his impact, that silence became inseparable from his teachings: he held that Truth cannot ultimately be conveyed in words, and that his silence was itself an active, deliberate form of spiritual work on behalf of humanity, not a withholding. He taught that he had “come not to teach but to awaken,” and drew people to him through his presence, love, and lived example.

Despite — or because of — his silence, his following grew across India and, through several visits to the West, internationally; his letters, discourses (dictated via the board before 1954 and by gestures after), and recorded conversations form the substantial body of teachings that seekers turn to today.
